i have a 93 caravan 2.5L 5 speed manual 190,000 on body 40,000 on rebuilt crate motor. someone else did the motor replacement so i don't know what parts they switched over between motors.

when putting a light load on the engine i have a intermittent miss.
biggest problem. when on the freeway at proper speed everything is fine. when i hit a hill i have a intermittent miss. i can down shift to 4th gear and it will clime the hill no problem.
SOMETIMES i also have a problem starting out from a dead stop not to often. i can start accelerating and it will fall on it's face. if i press the gas down the problem gets worse. if i leave the accelerator alone and drive a few feet it will clear out and run fine. or i push the clutch in, rev the motor, then dump the clutch it will chirp the tires and go.
when there isn't any load on the motor it revs fine without any miss.

i replaced the coil, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. and checked all of the grounds, they all test out fine. i was told check the EGR valve but it doesn't have one.

ideas to repair? distributor? computer? fuel filter?

i just bought a replacement for this car so i would like a cheap repair. or better yet sell it with this problem and tell buyer what should fix it.

thanks in advance moparts family

i did. i used 2 bottles of STP fuel system cleaner in the tank, now it seems to idle rough. i also put some 93 octane in the tank to. i figured a little extra octane couldn't hurt anything.

Have you checked for fault codes?

Possible O2 sensor. My 89 Daytona with 2.5 and 5 spd acted similar. Code was set for O2 stuck center but no CEL.
