Was wanting to put something on my vinyl top to help preserve it and at the same time not ruin it. THe vinyl top is only a few years old but I want to help it last a long time and look good.

Nothing with silicone!!!!!I ruined my white top with armorall. The guy that put my top on said mild soap and water, thats it.I tried to find a dressing and still(2 years later) have not.I did find some very exspensive stuff by googiling, vinyl top dressing.I went into my local auto zone-parts store and there was nothing.Black top I wouldnt worry, but mine was white and turned yellow.I am open for any sugestions.

I have (but haven't used yet) Griot's Vinyl and rubber dressing. Silicone free. Haven't used it on the vinyl top yet but on the dash and tires I am REALLY impressed. Its NOT glossy. Let me restate that differently...it does not add gloss. TO me thats important.

Local car detailing company recommended ERV Vinyl Dressing made by One Grand. Good stuff.

Back when they were new people used Pledge furniture spray. I don't know if it hurt them long term but it made them shine nice.

I have used vinyl floor cleaner/wax and it works great on black tops. Not sure about white but it says it will not yellow on the container.

You can get non silicone dressing for stuff like that. It comes in really big containers so you probably have to find a detailing shop to get some from.
