Awesome build !
It is great fun when you have the facility (sure looks like you do) and have the time to customize things like you are doing.
It sure has made my project fun. Ever stop to think how much you would have to charge someone to do this?
I could not do the weld thru primer...just could not get a decent weld. I am curious about your color, did you tint your primer that yellow color? Did you do that because you are going to paint the car a yellow color, or is it just some type of primer that happens to be that color?
I love the creativity, can't wait to see the finished project.

Thanks Darius,, LOL , yeah I never really stopped to think about that. Like your build I want the modern drivetrain and conviences but the look of the vintage muscle. My goal is 600 hp and 22 mpg. This will be attainable with the 6 spd T56 .50 final drive..I honestly believe this is the wave of the future in our hobby. BTW your is coming along nicely too. The color of the cuda will be House Of Color Black.. The epoxy primer is just tinted that way from Dupont. I have some more great pictures of the build here http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=75207.0 and also here http://s1187.photobucket.com/albums/z400/customachinecomponents/71%20Cuda%20Pro-Touring%20Build/ As always Than you all for the great comments.

Man,I like this build.
Lots of custom touches that may never get caught once it's all done and painted( like the rear bumper for example )

Keep it coming.

but I have to ask.

1 - Why the 3" exhaust over say a 2.5"

2nd - how is the exhaust going to be clamped together. I see the U-bolt/saddle clamp on the crossover pipe but band clamps everywhere else.

Or are you going to weld the system together ?

After I get everything set right I will weld the H- pipe but leave the rest. If I want to change something later it would be easier. The 3 inch pipes would match the 2 inch primary tubes on my headers any less diameter would take cost me Torque and HP

Great Build . Do you have any pics of what you had to do to the floor to make those front seats fit?

I bought of Procar Elite seats from Summit. They have the bases and the sliders that bolt to the stock hole location. The price was reasonable too.

I am using Shark Gauges (Dolphin Gauge Co) They are very comparable to Autometer Phantom Gauges without the price. I could not find a dash panel that I liked, So I made my own from some 18 gauge .

I didnt want to mount the gauges on top of the panel so I made some 1/2 wide steel rigs from some CRS round stock. This way the gauges would sit lower than the panel like the factory did. I welded the rings into the panel using silicon bronze rod to control the heat better with very little warpage

Now I plan covering the dash panel with leather or I might use wrinkle finish. I need to fab the light bar and drill some holes for the switches .

I love how you did the dash, however...{sorry}..Would it have been better having the 4 smaller gauges angled a little bit, to the left. It looks like they may be kinda hard to see from the seat..It may be the angle of your pics and I'm sorry for criticizing if thats what it is. Also, do you plan on putting the light/wiper switches in the stock location?? Loving this build.

Its probably the angle of the pictures. Its better the way its set. I looked at it both ways, and with me sitting in the seat this is the best set up on the gauge arrangment.Although I will be using different switches ,I plan on putting them in the stock location , maybe sme LED indicator lights. Thank you for your comments.

A set of E-body Billet hood hinges from Ted Brock (The Billet House) arrived here this month, These things are a work of art the feature gas shocks instead of springs. Hats off to Ted for these great peices

They weren't just a few $$$, I bet.. I like those..Interesting with the gas shock. So you are using a steel hood. I suppose if one was using 'glass, the shocks can come off okay?

Ouch.. just looked them up..Although SWEET looking, I think I can pass them by...

Yeah they require quite a bit of hand work but in the end I think it would be worth it for this car. He is working on billet Aluminum trunk hinges with gas springs also, here is the link to the hinges http://www.thebillethouse.com/70-74-e-body-hood-hinge/
