I cut the bumper ends before the mounts and took out 3/8 per side. Then welded back

I had to add some metal to reconstruct the end of the bumper to follow the body line

Awesome work. But wondering why you would weld in the side marker lights but you glued in the fender gills? Why not weld n the gills too if you are welding in the side marker lights. Not critiquing your work, just trying to understand the difference.
Thanks and keep posting.

Great question!! The reason that the gills are glued in the fenders other than welded is that the Mig weld is a (hard weld) and expands at a different rate then the metal all around it. This is evident with dark colors (this car will be black) when the car is parked in the hot sun (like at a car show). The mig weld will show thru the paint. so the upper part where it is in direct sunlight of the car, roof, hood ,deck lid, upper fenders and quarters I use panel adhesive. Other benifits are no warpage and the repair is waterproof . This is why I also replaced my deck lid and my hood, the glue and seam sealer on the original panels are 40 yrs old or older and is hard too. The new panels have softer glue and expand and contract correctly. Anytime you are at a car show look close at black car in the sun you will see what I am talking about. If incorrectly done you will see these problems

I installed the lokar Emergency brake handle and cables. I ran the cables along the outside of the transmission tunnel. The cables are universal and I cut them to the size I needed.

3 inch TTI headpipes installed, With the driveline angle at 1 deg instead of the factory 3 deg has created some clearance problems. The engine pipes hit the floor pan so some clearancing was in order. since this is a tuned system I will modify the car as much as possible without tweeking the tubes much.

AWESOME progress and pics.. I' built a pro street Cuda back in 2000 and sold it a few years later. I now have another that I hope to start working on within the following year. I have had a few ideas in mind for it and now after looking through your postings, I have a few more.

I really like what you did with the rear valance and bumper. I also like the rear suspension setup you have, among many other things.

I originally thought of using a modern era Hemi engine but have decided against it {for now}. I'll probably go with the 400 bb I have and use a Powerjection efi kit..we'll see..

Keep up the GREAT work.. You have many people following along, even if we all don't reply..

When you decide to quit, THAT is the moment when you would've succeeded..

Thank you for your positive comments!! another picture around the muffler area. I will have to raise the floor pan 1 inch above the mufflers for clearance.

As you can see the 3 inch pipes are tight around the rear end housing and upper crossmember
