is there a way to visually tell the difference between a lock up and non lock up converter?

or does any one know where I can look up the part numbers?

There is a difference when you look into the converter, But I don't have the two converters here to look at. I can tell you that the lockup coverter is a good bit heavier though. Maybe John Kunkel will chime in.

When looking into the converter, the larger first set of splines is the stator, the smaller second set of splines is the turbine; a non-lockup will have what looks like a flat bulkhead past the turbine splines, a lockup will have an additional bore with a bushing past the turbine splines.

If the converter has a drain plug it isn't lockup, if it's a 12" converter it isn't lockup.

Most, if not all, LU converters left the factory with a round sticker identifying them as such; you might get lucky and still be able to find/read the sticker.
