I just got back from Vegas and Jim will be back from his extended Florida vacation soon and we will get back on track with the project.
Retirement is great now I only work 7 days a week and only 12 to 14 hours a day. Business is unbelievable with engine, componant and chassis work.I may have to cut back or expand we can't get another engine or car in the shop and the list keeps getting longer. It's tough to take on new customers when we already have so many great ones.We will do our best.

Time Capsule Jim is back in town. We can get started on the '66 again. His first question is, "What induction system should I run?"

He would like input from MoParts gurus on how to top his HEMI.

Here are the choices:

Number 1.

Number 2.

Number 3.

Lets hear your opinions.

i would quickly walk past all the "restored",perfect paint, the best of year-one parts, trophy turds,to see a car like this, that just woke up,and grumbled over to the shows, from a 40 yr nap, with minor repairs to increase safety, for itself, and the driver.very impressive is the fact the guy ignored offers, and kept the car this long. and i also think BGR will do a fine job....i hope he drives the car,and NOT puts the "GEM" into a glass case for no one to enjoy. ...COOL CAR!
let us know how the blue streaks "hook up". .lol

with those 3 options i would have to consider what the rest of the drivetrain will consist of, a tunnelram wont do much good on a otherways stock motor/drivetrain, i know bob knows this aswell and im sure he will do the right thing in the end, if the rest of the car gets built for it, #3 sure is the way to go if the rest of the car does everything to be stock looking option #1 and #2 would work for anything else

#1, it's what everyone wants (deserves) to see under the hood of that historic type of car, the factory looking 2 x 4 is just 'dead-on' RIGHT!! It's part of the legend.

The 66-67 'plain jane' B body hemis have a mystique and a 'cool' all their own....really like no other mopar. So to not use the in line 2 x 4 would be like putting a tunnel ram or a big single /dommy on an original Max wedge car. Sure, It might work better and make more power...but in that kind of car who really cares?

It'd be like the image of a 35 yr old Sean Connery as Bond 007 in the classic black tux....but wearing a pair of Nike's

Jim's 66 is finished and has been fired up.We just haven't had time to take photos and post. The car was fitted with a set of grey American Torque Thrust wheels. The only thing Jim has to decide is weather to leave the original exterior paint with it's patina or repaint the car.The engine compartment was done as well as the underside of the hood. The car was an original "undercoat car" and was left as such with just a fresh over lay of black rust bullit. The only apparent outward changes from stock was the addition of a 8 quart oil pan and TTI headers with 3" stainless exhaust and a billit Firecore distributer and wires. The drive train retains the original numbers matching engine and trans with only"slightly modified internals".Jim has very carefully cataloged, packaged and documented any and all original parts and oddities. While he had the interior out he found the production "data plate"stamped PREP FOR HEMI under the rug with a attaching paper clip.It is similar to the fender tag.
Hopefully we can't get some pictures up soon,Jim is leaving for his winter stay in Flordia soon and has made arrangments to store the car at BGR for the winter.
We thank Jim for the oppertunity to be a part of this "special project"
