I have a 1972 Scamp and the piece of chrome trim/aluminum has a ding in it. This piece is screwed to the top of the grille and runs from one headlight bezel to the other. The chrome is absolutely perfect other than this noticeable ding.
Are there any places that can smooth out the ding and get it like new?
All of the used ones I see for sale are oxidized real bad and are dented up way worse than mine.
I recall some place did it in the mid-west and you could ship your trim to him in a piece of PVC pipe - it was in a Mopar Muscle Magazine story if I remember right.

There are several board members who do trim work. I'm not familiar with the scamp pieces but some are stainless and some are Anodized Aluminum (looks like chrome). I believe the piece you are talking about might be anodized aluminum.

I recently used All Trim Plus! to restore my 71 Dusters grill trim & head light bezels. It all came out looking perfect. Most of it was NOS to start with but due to age and shelf wear they needed to be polished and re-annodized. He's not the fastest or the cheapest but if you want it done right I can't think of any other vendor who can deliver the same quality consistantly.

Moparts member mr_belvedere is one the best IMO
