I'm working on a '71 Challenger. The front edge of the fenders have been repaired in the past. I have a pair of refurbished headlight doors which are supposed to be the correct contour. I'm having trouble getting them to fit the fenders correctly. The fender edge seems to be 'wider' than the h/l door lip. I would like a close-up shot from the front (especially of the outer edge) of restored or original cars so I can see how well these fit from the factory. The holes seem to line up ok. TIA, Dallas missourimopar.com

Wow, no one has a close-up of the front of a fender? I guess I should have put this in the resto section. Dallas missourimopar.com

Thanks for the replies. I really need a close-up similar to the angle of the middle pic FAB64 posted. Gavin, the edges of my fenders don't really look any different from yours. It just seems like the edge of the fender sticks out past the h/l doors too far. The doors are hitting the inside edge so they can't go any further out or up. It's just kind of like the fender edges are too 'fat'. I thought someone had built them up with filler but I hit metal as soon as I started to sand. Maybe I'm expecting them to fit better than they were designed. Dallas missourimopar.com
