Blagged this of Ebay in 2006...Was told it raced all over California in the seventies and into the 80s.It was then stored from 1984 until i shipped it to England......Was given a bit of history but nothing solid...Its taken me a few years to get it somewhere near nice, but still a few jobs to be done...The old 440 came with a set of heads of a 383 that had the bigger exhaust valves fitted from the 906 heads,, and some nice port work...I have updated the whole car,, axle, box ,engine ,cage ,electrics the lot .But kept it looking just as it was back in the day...First picture shows it the day i picked it up from the docks...must admit i did think i had got a lemon,,,but it turned out ok

Good for you! Great series of pictures. It is funny how you buy something site unseen and when you 1st see it you're kind of taken aback and the 1st thought is "what have I done?". But then you keep looking and sorting through it and finally conclude it'll be fine. Things turn out, as you said. I've been through that more than once.

Car looks good. Glad you're having fun and you're particularly to be commended for pulling all that off 'over the pond'. I'll bet that engine pulls hard. The bottom end is almost too pretty to cover up with an oil pan! Best regards.

Its always nice when someone else likes your car, more so when the positive comments come from Stateside ...Latest photo taken at Santa Pod England... In my book all race cars should have Maaahosive rear wheels
