Hi All.
I just put in a new steering gear from Steer and Gear and it feels really good.

But I've got a small leak on the top of the steering box where the inlet hose goes on.

I have tightened it as much as I dare but there is still a leak. Is there some tape to put on the threads that is heat resistant? Or do you guys have another suggestion? Should I just try to tighten it some more? I'm afraid I'll break something.

Thanks for any input.

That's a compression fitting (like brake fittings) so no sealing tape will help, If it's that tight I'd take it apart and inspect the sealing surfaces for nicks, etc....If they look ok tighen some more.

Take care,

i agree, it's a compression fitting, try loosening it, then tightening it just enough so you can move the hose back and fourth a few times, then tighten it....that works for me sometimes....

Thanks guys. I'll check the fitting tomorrow. Now it's bedtime over here in Sweden.
