Under the battery tray, under a hollowed-out windshield washer jar, inside the car under or behind the glovebox, or mounted to a custom bracket that uses existing holes. Running the wiring alongside an existing harness helps hide that part. It's generally considered a good idea to keep those units cool or at least have airflow past them. Personally I'm against drilling holes in cars, and the less clutter in an engine compartment, the better it looks to me.

I put mine under the battery tray. This way no need to drill any holes in the body and the box is readily accessible. I extended the wiring and wrapped it toghether with the existing harness. Works perfect.

Remember, adding length to the wiring harness will eventually degrade the circuit . It was orginally designed to operate at a certain length wiring harness and extending this length changes the pattern if observed on a lab scope

I put mine in the cavity behind the right front headlight and in front of the rad support. I just had my engine wiring harness made so the wire just extends beyond the washer pump down under the frame rail and into the cavity behind the headlight.

I like putting them inside the car then run the wires back through the firewall

use a petronix ignition.... two wires and uses your original ditributor with correct advance curve.

I put my rev limiter on top of heater box. Ran power from fuse block, and an unused terminal in bulk head connector for the engine wire

I find that hard to believe. At 6000 RPM on an 8 cyl. motor, that's only 48kHz. A few straight feet of wire isn't going to do s#!t.

That's where mine's hiding.

Here's one on a B-body. Under the battery tray is where our shop normally mounts them to be out of view.

Actually the Mopar installation instruction sheet specifically states that extending the wires to the box is not a problem.
