Just saw this 1979 drag race based movie on DVD yesterday. If anyone saw it,what were your impressions? Definately some hot babes and loud funny car action! I thought the cinematogrophy was excellent! Very close-up action..especially on the smoky burnouts! Didn't even realize it until I read the credits that Claudia Jennings died shortly after making this film,in a head-on car crash! She was only 29 yrs. old! Very tragic! Not a academy award nominee by any means..but definately worth watching...if you're into that racing stuff! LOL!!! RandyB

Adam,it was from Netflix. It was a suggested movie by their computer..because I had rented Two Lane Black Top..which was actually pretty damn lame compared to Fast Company! Like I said,Lots of Funny Car action! If you're old enough to remember the 70's tv mini-series,Rich Man-Poor Man,with Nick Nolte, the actor who played Falcon Eddie,William Smith, plays the lead role as Lonnie "Lucky Man" Johnson. It's only a 90 minute movie,so it moves pretty quickly! Let me know what you think,if you decide to get it! RandyB

The Movie was mostly filmed at the old Edmonton Speedway. Graham Light was the track manager, the starter is the same guy that starts at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton today. The one scene with the funny car at the stop light was on Saint Albert street. Pretty cool to see some of the people involved at the time at the track I race at today.

Thanks Randy I'll have my buddy look into it as I don't have NetFlix. I have Two Lane Blacktop and the original Gone in 60 Seconds though, lol.

No problemo,Adam! I think you'll enjoy the car scenes...and the hot chick scenes as well!!! As a bonus..they show some beautiful scenery from their highway travels..Rockies,I'm assuming! Enjoy!

It's been a long time. Was that Gordie Bonin's car in the movie, or maybe a backup car?

Sheldon, not sure if it was Gordie's car,but he did MOST of the stunt driving! Have you seen the movie? If so..how did you like it???
