Ok the season is winding down. Didn't race much this year for a varitiey of reasons. Always add an upgrade or two to the car each year. So this winter I am thinking about a converter & larger carb. Car is a 69 Satellite stock bottom end 318, 360 junk yard heads, stock 318 converter, 904 with a T/A valve body .455 lift purple shaft cam, LD340 intake, Black Jack headers, Edlebrock 600 carb, 4.10 gear with a spool. 26 x 10 slicks. Car runs consistan 8.88 to 8.95 1/8. My 60's are currently 1.97 footbraking at 1450 RPM. Thinking about a 3K stall converter, and a 700 or 750 double pumper Holley. These two things are within my budget & I am hoping will get the car in the 8.65 to 8.70 range. BTW the track I mostly run at the car runs its slowest. Every time I run a different track I pick up .5 to a tenth. So am I dreaming or is this a realistic goal?

What are you running for suspension set up front and rear? What shocks and springs? Does the car hook well at the track you run slower at?

Yep car hooks well. Consistant. A lot of the folks I know who also run the local tracks are slower at this particular track. My suspenson is stock. Not going to change that untill I start having my 60's or 330's move. I did put cheapo 90/10's on the front a year or so ago. Made no difference at all over the stock worn out shocks. When I first started racing the car 4 years ago it was a 9.50 car. I keep chipping away on it as my budget allows. I dont want to take big bites as I see so many others do that & loose the consistancy & then strugle all season to dial the car back in. A tenth here and a tenth there is just fine for me.
