Has anyone ever had a problem with alignment of March pulleys using factory brackets on a 71 Challenger? I used spacers on the crank pulley to align with the alt. and waterpump but there is no way I can use that many spacers for the power steering pump without throwing off the other two. March is being no help what so ever. They asked if there is anyway I can space the power steering pump back to alignment. Well if there were, why would I be calling them? Any help? See pic

i think your power steering pulley maybe installed backwards. on the stock one i remember the stub being toward the front so you could use a power steering pump pulley puller to remove it. that should bring it alot closer to alignment.

if all else fails, i make custom hub centric spacers to fix alignment issues.

Here is a pic from the front of the motor. As far as I can tell, there is only one way it can go on the pump.

The body/shaft on your power steering pump looks really long. Are you running a stock pump? I had a similiar problem on my 360 except I had to shim the pump out to get the March pulleys to line up. I cant remember but did they sell 2 different sets, one for the Federal type pumps and one for the Saginaw type?

That body/shaft is defintely different than a stock style pump, that is your problem right there. Go to a local parts store and ask to see a reman. pump for your make/model and you will see the difference.

Hmmm... your right they do look similiar. If you flip your brackets holding the pump so the offset is moving the pump back?? Is it possible the brackets are on wrong?? I'm suprised being an E-body there hasnt been more replys to the post. Can someone post a pick of their small block E-body power steering setup??? Hello board members??

the set is made to be fabriated to your pump.
