Man that looks great! Kudo's to you for building it the way YOU wanted. Stock is cool...but personalized is COOLER! Great Job.

thanks for all the compliments, i am trying to keep it stock looking however inject some person touches, this is a driver and not a trailer queen, these cars are made to drive and they look pretty good doing it.

the only down side to driver car, always working on it, never finished

i am hoping to make it to biloxi ms the 1st week on oct. for cruising the coast, this will be my first show after 4years of hard work.

this is more of a cruise in than a car show, everybody is driving their cars not just on trailers.

Looking good. I have a similar project going on, we've talked before. I have an original 68 Coronet 440 that I am moving along the path to a Go Mango orange R/T. I have the paint done, reassembling the trim now (interior will stay 440 trim for now other than the buckets and floor shifter). I have a question that came up recently, what color should the headlight bezels be? Originally my 440 had them black with the chrome lines criss-crossing it, is that correct for an R/T, or should they be blacked out (like the grill) except for the silver around the perimeter? I have looked at several pictures on the web and I seem to see some of each. Hopefully blacked out is the answer, and that is the way I am headed as of now, it is easier (much less masking) and I think it looks better.

the R/T is blacked out and the coronet 440 has the silver lines in them. i have attached a pic of mine

and yes doing the blacked out is easier that getting the silver lines , i used Kraylon satin black matched the color perfect.

your car sounds great, i love the high impact colors!

Good deal, even if you would have said silver lines I think I might have just painted them black anyway. Mine are getting a coat of Blitz Black, same as the grill, tail panel, tail light bezels & hood. Pretty close the the right color and they will all match.

looks really nice!

I like the way it sits just a little high all around. What are you using out back for springs?

I like it sans stripe actually.

One more question since you are a few months ahead of me on this, just to make sure does the rear R/T badge just get melted into place on the tail panel trim piece, or is there some sort of push/speed nut I should be trying to use?

the rear r/t badge is designed to fit on the tail panel, it is cut to fit just right

Right, I have it there, with the 2 pegs sticking through the holes I drilled in the tail panel. What I am asking is what holds the pegs in the holes? This was a Coronet 500 panel, but if I remember correctly when I removed the 500 emblem the pegs were basically melted/mushroomed into place.

you may have to drill them out, there should only be 2holes in the panel for your R/T emblem to fit, the emblem has two chrome prongs and they go into the 2 holes and you put pal nuts on the back side to hold the emblem to the panel
