I know a bunch of you have the flexable Lokar trans dipstick in your 727 .

I installed mine tonight and the thing wont sit flush onto the trans case. The large nut on the end sits up about 1/8 " or so from the trans.

Is this how they fit ? Ive got a ton of RTV around it right now.

I got mine to sit flush by using a long screwdriver and tapping on it to get it to seat. I still dont think it reads right.

Had to grind a little off of aluminum end to fit.

also used rtv so it won't pop out.

i got mine in flush with some twisting and pusing but my tranny was out of the car. Plus i had oil on the oil ring.

On a side note i pulled it out and replaced it i can stand how they just flap with the wind.
Great looking piece.

If you have one use a long prybar. The curved end would have worked better for me.Thought of it after the fact of course. Just checked and it would have worked fine. This is on a smallblock in a Dakota.

In some cases (stamped steel pan) it sticks up 1/8" because it's stopped by the pan gasket, on cast aluminum pans it hits hard on the pan rail.

In either case just take that amount off the bottom fitting.
