I am looking for some advice on hood pins.

This is not a factory correct restore but I would like to get it close.

I am looking at a set from Mr. Gasket and wanted to get your input.

The plates look like the paper thin style they sell at auto parts stores. If so they get scratched up fast and look sorta cheap compared to the factory style.

If that setup were mine I would get some stainless or aluminum scrap and make new plates that had some thickness to them.
