Add Another Moparts member to the Perfect Run Club. Fri night at Bristol Dragway, Mopar Thunder, footbrake, Mopars Against the World Round 5 (at 5 cars), RonP (Ron Polidora) went .0000 reaction time, dead on his dial in with TWO zeros.(X.XX00, can't remember his dial in) What makes this even more impressive, I belive he only had 1 time trial before it rained, and because the officals were concerned with more rain and a late night, after a 3 hour rain delay we got no time trials and no buy backs. Win or go home, just like the old days. Another Moparts member, Chris Vanover made it down to 10 cars in Super Pro, and one round had a .003 package. Lots of good, hard racing and congrats to both of these racers on fine runs, and a big to the rest of the Moparts racers. Brian Dunnigan

Excellent. He earned that round win. Sounds like he was doing well (going into 6th round).
The only thing to make it better would be if the other racer had a good package, but not good enough.

Every thing you guys said about RonP is true. Drag racing and life in general could stand more good men like him. Bill and Ted, I did about like normal.Fri night 4th round loser. Sat I broke out .001 in Pro, red lighted -.006 in sportsman (1/4 mile class) at 6 cars. I over came another flat tire sat. I struggled sunday. I took the car out of the trailer, and broke the starter when I went to warm it up. ( Big thanks to Moparts member Johnny Pennington for the starter). Apparantly, while changing the starter we managed to kill one of the batteries. We couldn't keep them charged and had to be jumped off in the staging lanes 3 times. I had to forfit the 3rd round of sportsman(couldn't get the car started in time) and with so much going on I just missed the tree against a racer that you can't do that against in the 3rd round of Pro. We got behind the 8 ball early and could never recover. Missed all time trials, lined up 1st round and guessed. Had a good time anyway and thanks to all the Mopar folks for the help and offers for help. And also thanks to Johnny Pennington's dad for the fish and shrimp and fellowship sat night! Davey Boyd, the shirts almost worked sat! Thanks again everyone. Brian Dunnigan

Thanks guys. Brian it was great meeting you. Luck was on my side for sure Friday night. I had three rounds with packages .012 or less and then the almighty prefect package. Made it down to three cars in Pro and they combined us with three super pro cars. Too close on the tree that round and ended up breaking out. I will be scanning and saving that time slip for a long time as I will probably never see another perfect run. Wish i would have met some of you other guys. I did talk to Jonny quite a bit and some others I know from races in this area that don't use this board. Sat and Sun I didn't do so well, but did manage a few rounds each day. I put 21 passes on the car at this event and loved everyone of them. Great facility.

After further review, it looks like the battery that went bad over night caused the starter problem. It looks like low voltage caused the starter to kick back. I don't know what I could have done differently. I charged the batteries all night, and didn't know I had a problem until I tried to start it first thing Sun.? Some days its peanuts, some days its hulls. Brian

Thats funny with the battery, after I gave your wife the starter mine did the same thing with a dead battery. Went to make first time trial car just rolled through lights, went back to trailer car would hardly turn over, went back to staging turned car off would not start. Pulled back to trailer borrow a battery from the Varners went and to dash for cash to get a time trial, guessed a 6.29 and ran dead on with a zero. Must have been the cold weather, but didn't charge mine that night. Had a great time and enjoyed talking to everyone. Thanks for all the help Snuffer. I don't think the timing made the difference though.

I say a perfect light is just a BAD JOB of Red Lighting..
Chris..
I SAY, you're thinking about it all wrong. Go at it like you're trying to win, not trying to not lose. There is a difference. Question: Whats the first thing you do after a perfect run? Answer: not Brian

Call it what you will, but one thing for sure is that it sent me to the next round with a big old bye run (too bad we had an even amount of cars ) attached is the slip. Probably will never happen to me again.
