I have cracked the block on my 1975 360 engine which was in my 68 cuda, hooked to a 904 trans.
I have found a 318 from a truck rear oil sump. Will there be any issues with the 318 bolting up to the 904 I was ussing with the 360? Can I use the oil pan off the 360 on the 318? Thanks.

Engine will mate to trans. You can not use a 360 pan on a 318, as the rear end seal is a different size on the 318. You need a 318 car pan and pick-up. You must make sure you use a flexplate/converter that is not counterweighted for the 360. You may be able to just knock the weight off your 360 converter, if that is what had the weight, or if you had an aftermarket flexplate that was counterweighted, swap to a stock plate. Alsao make sure you use the 318 harmonic balancer, as the 360 has a counterweight. You will also need to change one of the motor mount brackets, as it mounts a little different, I forget which side it is.

------------------------ It doesn't matter what you do.........As long as you look good doing it !

you need a 318 car pan,the 360 car pan will not fit a teen but you can use the car pick up tube from the 360

you just need a 318 car pan

the 904 is good to go but you need to remove the weight off of the torque converter

the engine mount may be a little diff on the teen also, but an easy fix with some washers

you broke the block????

something loose and moving around?

good luck
