Good morning,

I am putting my new 440 together and I couldn't find a gasket for the oil pump.

I believe I ran into this before. This is using the typical Fel-Pro kit which is 2110 I think. It has every gasket I have needed so far, including the oil pump O ring.

But no base gasket between the pump body and the block?

They do use one, correct?

Yes.....they use a gasket.
Mopar number for the gasket and O rings is 2084355. Sometimes a little tough to find.
Get your dealer to do a search.

I figured that would be the trick.

It seems strange that it is not in the kit. Definately not in there.....think Rainman repeating.....

Anyways, aside from the strange humor here I will do some checking.

I'd like to get it online since I am 50 miles from town and the local parts store stink

Maybe I can get it at Summit.

Thanks, just as I suspected.

I found them at Mancini, thank you. I will try and find it local at Napa.

The main store I shop at was of no use. Even Summit didn't have the kit....

I'll post up when I find the number.

Back in bit.....

I am thinking I need the kit that looks like this: http://chucker54.stores.yahoo.net/oilpumpgasket.html

But most places show the kit that looks like this:

http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Results...5+50022+2022016

Isn't there supposed to be a paper gasket in there like the Mancini kit?

2-3 local parts houses show the O-ring as all there is. I have that in my kit.

For obvious reasons I need to get this right.

Thanks for the help.

Hughes has them too.

Napa does not. The guy there says that they sell the o ring but not the gasket. He says the only time he sees the gasket is when you buy the oil pump.

So.......I will see what I can come up with. It is more of a time thing, not $.

I will call another parts house or two.

Keep a few hanging on a nail on the wall, and be careful about how many you hand out to your buddies when they come around. Because one day you'll need one in a pinch, just like those guys, and you won't have jack!

Get one of those thin green/yellow/red manila folders, cut it w scissors, punch/trim the holes w the ball peen & lightly coat it w Permatex "high tack", the red stuff, several years & counting workin perfect

Last time I refreshed my 440 I couldn't find one anywhere. I ended up making mine.

Wow, the generosity of this site is pretty incredible. I have no idea why they don't include one in the kit. It has everything else but no gasket for the OP? Strange.....

I did end up calling everyone in town, including the dealer. No one had it, and the dealer did not return my call.

I am going to make one, and the next time I order some parts online I will get a stack of them.

It is the weird little stuff that gets you.

The story on the build of my car is long.

But I have my nieces coming in two weeks and I want to take them for a spin in a loud muscle car. That is something that will leave an impression. I am a shop teacher and I can tell you that todays kids don't really relate to the old stuff. They like it, but don't really "get it".

It is a mild 440 with a 3" exhaust and 4.10's in an A body. Should be memorable for them and me. I have never driven anything really close to a "hot rod". If you count a 289 with 3.50 gears a hot rod

Thank you so much.

I think it is the Fel Pro kit # 2110 that is the culprit.

Maybe I should look at the McCord next time.

It is really weird that it is not in there......
