got a phone call from the guy that bought my Swinger. He was wondering what cam he should get. So he you small block guys go. 69 340, 10.5:1, mildly ported J-heads, 1.6 roller rockers, RPM air gap, TTi headers 3" X-pipe, MSD distrib, 727 with mild stall and 3.55's He wants to keep the 3.55's. Now it has the stock 340 cam. I got the thing to run 13.80 w/ a 750DP and 14.08 w/ a carter 600. Carb recommendations taken too.

comp XE262 or XE268, I'd use an 800cfm eddie thunder series AVS or a demonsizzler t-quad

800 eddy on a mild 340?? seems a tad big. I recommened a 650DP but then again I don't care for vacuum carbs. I'll check into that cam.

The 750 seems like it was working well on it before. 340s seem to like big carbs. I ran a Proform 750 on mine and they flow 830cfms.

yeah but I kept that carb. I had it jetted way down and used 28 squiters. I don't see a XE268 for a small block on Summit.

Get a Lunati Voodoo #60403. That's what I've got in my 340 and love it.

Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .494/.513

I can't think of anything negative to say about my Scott Brown 226/238 @ .005" 270/288 custom stick. Excellent idle and in-gear vacuum (11-3/4"hg in D)and it pulls past 6k. Very good street manners.

I like the edelbrock RPM cam I have but I don't think you would call it mild. Pulls way past 6500.

Try a Crower 31242, great mild cam with some lope. I went 12.90's in an almost stock 340 duster with ex manifolds and 850 TQ off a 400.
