Freshened up my chokeless 850cfm TQ and re-epoxyed the jet wells as one was leaking badly. It fires easily on a hot re-start right up now after sitting for awhile. Before I had to hold throttle down to the floor and crank for a few seconds due to fuel seepage into the intake manifold. Also reset the nitrile floats to 1" and shortened the metering tree spring it seems more responsive to me.

I think I'll keep running this 35 year old carb for awhile longer.

Carb specs are #9023 TQ with 96/145 jets, #2003 rods, .032 squirters, tree height 1.5 turns with 2 coils clipped off spring, air door opening 1/2", accel pump 15/32" height, idle mix screws turned 3 turns out for a built 340-4spd-4.10 combo

1970 FE5 Duster 360/904/3.91's SOLD 1973 TB3 SpaceDuster 340/4spd/4.10's SOLD Moparless for now but when the opportunity is right I'll have another one.

they have an excellent fuel metering system. When tq's are right they are RIGHT. I had one on a 440 barracuda & with the right # of pumps(in the summertime)I could touch the key to start, release it & it would start before the key snapped back.(had a gm hei & big yellow super coil. If I got a hankering for another one I would have our resident expert demonsizzler do one for me.
