i got a good 440 out of a 75 new yorker and put it in our 71 charger and bought most all the parts to convert to a 4 speed it was pointed out that i could not put a 4 speed behind a 440 that had a cast crank because of balancing i bought a 11 inch flywheel but was told cant use it behind the cast crank 440 am i screwed here now??

What is this one from? Cast Crank? What engine? Ignore what some junkyard dog wrote on it.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

I dont think you have a pilot pushing in a cast crank or a deep enough hole to install one. Check and make sure!!
They make one specifically for use in an auto trans crank. It's shaped a little different and sits in the hole for the torq converter snout. Only mod you have to do is trimming the tip of the input shaft a little shorter.
