I have my car all loaded up and ready to roll!! Looking at the weather forcast and the listed highs are in the low 80's!!! I will take that and run. Usually, this event brings in over 100 cars and it is the crown jewel of the FAST racing season. I made this race back in '03 and it is one of the 2 race dates that I negotiate the Kitchen Pass for! East bound and down, loaded up for Martin!!!!

We're looking forward to the race. Should be a blast.

I`ll be heading out there Thursday morning to start setting everything up..

Regretfully, I have to report that my car will not be at the Martin FAST event this year. I am just getting the motor together and it should be on Scott Koffels dyno in a week or two. (I hope to post some before and after numbers here on moparts). May have it at the Nats this year but that track is not likely to produce any personal bests, let alone in mid August.

Several small blocks will be running in the factory stock ranks. The best car show you will ever see!!!!

Brian (F1Scamp) has a 71 Duster 340 he just finished (and is still working the bugs out). I assume he plans on having the car there. His dad has a yellow AAR also and it could show up.

Get the women, children, Fords and Chevy's out of the way, Hemi Power is in town!

I've been away from the battlefield for way too long, but now my new level XV secrect weapon has been installed on the Hemi 4 speed GTX and will be deployed for the first time at this event.



It's going to be a serious battle, I'm letting ot all hang out, going for the jugular, taking no prisoners!

Dave did not make a single full pass all weekend under 134.00 mph

What were some of the fastest times? What did Cook's Maxie/ 6 pack's run?

The Cook's were cooking the comers.
The Maxie was having a few low end and top end hick ups but still managed 124+ mphs. By the way that thing was charging with its Gremlins, it will be a force from the dark side to reckon with.
I was awed by Cooks Jr. shifting prowess like I never heard or saw before.
That Bee ripped by me where I was standing taking flicks and was violently screeching the tires with Sox like consistency.
He was in the 11's. Can't remember the actual numbers.

Congrats to Harry and the Bee, though Scotty was razor sharp at the lights and his Green Adam 12 was 60' hootin' some thing fierce.

I witnessed a couple of cooling relations between some rivals, but it was clean action fun.
The Pontiac's are beating the war drums, but need some more Voodoo to catch the charging Elephants.
There are some big game hunters on the horizon looking forward to de-thrown the Pentastar giants.

It was great to meet up with all my FAST racing buddy's again, and get the GTX back on the track. Congrats to Dave on maintaning his reign, and to Lane for almost taking him down! Thanks to ED and Scotty and Bruno and all those who kept us fed, Ed your new Maxie is awesome, give it more track time and it will be right where you want it. Me and my son Cam got there thurse afternoon, crusing around the pits thurse night I toasted something in the valvtrain, thought maybe I wiped a cam lobe. #6 intake lash opened up to .090. I didn't have the parts or the ambition to fix it (after the 3 day thrash to be ready to go and the long drive) so I decided to be a spectator. Friday Tom Cannon (Big Shooter) and Steve Vanderwall got me all motivated to give it a shot. Paul Petco found me a set of roller lifters an hour away, Tom lent me his truck, I got the parts, put them in, got the car back on the track by friday eve for acouple test passes. The guys let me count my fri night pass for qualifying, even though qualifying was closed. Qualified 8th with an 11.74. Didn't have time for any real testing or dialing anything in, just tried to get used to driving the car again. Lost to Dave in the 1st round on saterday, went into the consolation ladder and won that. One of the highlights for me was racing James Cooks 4 speed Road Runner! The Old fart vs. the Kid in and all 4 speed match. James is awesome with a stickshift, and was hoping for an upset. He ran a great race.
I was really hoping to back up my 10.92 pass, but the air was hot, the hook was iffy, my 02 meter was broke, and I just plain didn't work hard enuff at it. Best was an 11.03 at 128. Thanks to every one who helped me wrench on the car!

Had a great time on the way home, took the long way thru the Upper Peninsula and did lots of sightseeing.

My boy shot some video, but sorry, he ony shot the rounds with my car.
The next event for me is the Mopar Nats in Columbus. See you there!
