Well I need to replace the recently installed McLeod clutch with less than 3000 miles as it is slipping badly when I get on the loud pedal. I believe it is a bad pressure plate but have decided that I do not want another one again. I have had good luck with the centerforce dual friction units but have a friend that says I should go with a street twin. The car is street driven 95% of the time with occasional trips down the track. I am putting out about 700hp and 650+tq at the crank now with recent upgrades will the centerforce live behind this? I know this has been asked a thousand times before but I need to buy something and figure I would check with you boys before I bite the bullet. When at the track I run drag radials and have no intention of slapping a set of slicks on it. Is the street twin worth the money and will it live on the street?

I'm not making the horsepower that you are, but, I do run slicks when I race. My car is about 100 pound lighter than yours and my center force holds up just fine. I've said it many times here, It is the best bang for the buck when it comes to clutch assemblies. Not taking anything at all away from the street twin. It also is a good unit, but more than twice as expensive.

4 speed street legal. Best time 10.99 @ 124 mph on 93 octane pump gas @ 3926# total weight

I took the advice of 68LAR and bought a centerforce. I just broke mine in and have street lauched it(no track yet) but it held fine. I own a blown 68 RR 440 should be right at 685hp was 500 naturally.6 pounds of boost with 4:30's-Gary

I have decided to go with the Centerforce as I have had good luck with them. I have never had one that slipped, or at least I did not notice it. I recently swapped the stock flywheel for an SFI unit and do not want to set it in the parts pile. The street twin sounds like a nice clutch that will harness high horspower applications but overkill for a street driven car like mine. If it did not require a flywheel change I might have went for it?
