So what would you guys do to "restore" the old primer color on the underside? Would you tint something and add a flatening agent or just use an epoxy primer? I want something that would be easy to clean if I happen to run through a mud puddle or something else! My car is all new everything underneath so I'm starting on a clean slate. The more I'm reading this post, the more I want to bring the car back to stock and not have the entire undercarriage painted body color.

Cheers

Does it supposed to be prmer over body color or body color over primer? Looks like primer over body color

Car is dipped in primer and then the car is painted, the only paint on the bottom side is overspray on the high parts and ledges. There is a post with great info and pics on a 68 RR going on right now, it's basically the same process.

Great info boys. One thought mentioned here and on the other thread about black being painted under the mufflers.... Black would absorb heat from the mufflers making the floor hot. White would be a better choice if that was the idea.
