I was hoping someone out there might be able to steer me in the right direction with this problem. My 99 Sebring Convertible is having a weird tach issue. I drove it the other day and the gauge was reading either 1200rpm or 4000rpm. It was not properly sweeping or showing the correct rpm. It would either show 1200 or 4000. I am not familiar with newer cars and where the tach signal comes from or what might be the problem. On the way home (same trip) the tach was working fine. Then today it is doing the same thing. Anyone familiar with this or have an advice? It's been a good car and still drives fine. I'd like to correct the problem if I can.
