As a fan of Galen, I used a rusty hose-clamp to attach it to the column. Galen is a fan of that.

Another option...if it's a '70's A-body one will mount nicely to the A-pillar on the driver's side. Pop out one of the screws.

I know dash mounted tachs are a no-no in some areas.

I remember a bracket years ago that was advertised in Mopar Collectors guide that utilized the Defrost vents up on the dash. I think you removed the plastic insert and this bracket went in its place. If memory serves me right it positioned the tach right in front of the dash pad.
ANYONE remember this? Would love to find one myself.

Superbird Bobs are made of stainless steel. Very nice quality.

Gee, 30 years ago when i flattened my old SW column mount & wrapped it with electric tape & shoved it under there that I should have patented it.

THECARFARMER made tach brackets and advertized here. He is no longer in business. I e-mailed him asking if he had any leftovers for a 71-4 b-body and never heard from him...If anyone has a pic of Superbird Bobs Bracket for a 71-4 b-body let me know how it looks/works. His site shows tiny pics...Thanks....

i have one of these in my dart. http://www.superbirdbob.com/acme-products/tack-bracket/4833420

it sucks. i hate it. have a 5" tach mounted on it and it bounces all over the place when ya hit a bump . hits the windshield when it bounces. can't wait to get rid of it.

I remember seeing that one on here, but i can't remember who was making it. It looked like a nice piece, but it blocked off the drivers side defrost. If i was to make one, i would put some holes in it for the air to flow through.
