hi folks
i have a 1976 dodge d200 crewcab truck.2wheel
drive,with a 440 in it.i need a float for the
sending unit in the gas tank.i have called all
the parts houses here in town.grand junction
colorado.they don't have them.the dealer dos'nt
have them.the junk yards don'nt have them.
the float must have a tiny pin hole in it.
i filled the tank, and the gauge read 3/4 full.
the chassis tank float had the same problem.
put new float in it,all is well.
is there any that will inerchange with it.
will one from a car gas tank fit.
if any one, here in grand junction,co has one.
let me know.

I believe a Ford float will work.

The ones Chrysler use today are plastic. You can use it too, or order a metal repro from one of the sponsors of this site.

So, instead of asking for a 76 truck float, try asking for a 92 truck float or something like that.

Ford vans used a good plastic float.I pirated a few before when I replace the senders.I believe they were used in the 90s.Fit right on and last. They were avaliable at the dealer for I think under 10 bucks.Rocky

I just go to my local friendly Ford dealer, tell them I need a barrel float for an early car like a 66 Mustang. They give me the brass barrel float just like the Mopar for about $5. ( Note: Wear disguise so no one catches you at Ford dealer ! )

What did you ask for at FORD? I mean those guys don't go by discription, usually they need vehicle make and model or Part number.

I soldered the leaky float in my sons car, so far so good but.....
