I have answered a couple posts and emails regarding these, and have probably meant to figure this out better over the last 15 years or so, but finally spent some time cross referencing these units.

There will be exceptions to the rule as there were many different parts listed for many applications, but what I am showing here is so people can figure things out a little better, and if anyone has extra to add, please do .

Basically the "flapper" was 1-7/8 (right) for 318,71 up 340 and 360, while 2-1/4 (left) for 68-70 340, 361-383-400-440.

Here is a .pdf of scans of the valve section out of the parts books: 64,65,66,67,68,69,70,71,72,73,74,75 and truck 72,73,74,5,76,78,79,80,81,82. I have made a few notes in there.
Manifold Heat Control Valve

All the separate parts listed generally have gone obsolete, or superseded to s-pkg (serviced in package) I am spotty on which SS books I have, but do have a lot and that is how it came out.

I was sent a picture of a 70 340 counterweight that I believe is production line (raised pentastar and thinner) but am sure all the available parts have the sunken pentastar 3418410 c/weight in them.

From kit

All the 68-70 340 kits superseded to 3004574, which went obsolete in or around 1986, some for sale, and pictured,
Here, Brad's NOS (not a plug, just a reference)

All the 318-360 and 71 up 340 ones supersede to 3683947, Seen here are available at your Chrysler dealer as of yet.

Generally all the HP Big Block ones either went obsolete, or superseded to 3683945 (the 73 #) then went obsolete. It can be seen here , but earlier versions have a way different counterweight.

Generally all the 2bbl or C body Big Block ones either went obsolete, or superseded to 3683946 (the 73 #) then went obsolete.

As a note, the 68-70 parts books listed a block of plug for the hole on 340's, part # 2843957 discontinued, but worth hunting for.

Also the 75 car parts book lists a 400-440 one, part# 3837632 that has recently gone NS1, but there happens to be 1 sitting on the shelf @ Driver Motors in Mayfield KY (270-247-3272) for under 50 bucks if anyone is interested. I have never seen this one before physically myself.

*plug* I have a 3683946 BB one for sale as well.

Instruction sheet from the Chrysler kits.

Thanks guys I have also taken a bunch of pix of 68-74 BB and 72-3 SB manifolds with them on. I do not know how much help they would be but if anyone wants to see them, just email or PM.

I see Barry posted this pic off a low mile T/A:

And it was Floyd that sent the first pic I posted, I asked him to check casting date of manifold and build date of car.
