I've looked at the R/T Specialties website and all I see there is the screws and clips that fasten the seal to the airbox. Is there a source for the screws that hold the airbox to the hood? What about the rivits that hold the two airbox halves together, I have completely dis-assembled my airbox for as thorough a repair as I can make, if it's for a clip, screw or rivit for a '70 Ramcharger system I probably need it!

jeff , the only screws are on the outer most edges of the air box (4 per side i believe) , same screws that hold the seal to the center section , the rest of the holes get the large flanged rivets .

That's right, silver colored rivots

The large-flange (aluminum) rivets Scott's referring to were also used on early Fox-body Mustang front bumper covers, and are available from AuVeCo.

Guys, here's a picture of a friends car. It's nearly a twin to mine. You can see there are screws holding the airbox to the hood. There are rectangular slots to slide a clip (just happens to be the same thing as the ones holding the seal to the airbox) into the hood to provide threads for a screw...no rivits. The rivits I need are the ones that hold the two outside sections of the airbox together, there's a bunch of them spaced around the outside of the two halves, my airbox has a large crack in it and the only way to fix it right as far as I could see was to remove the rivits and take it apart so I could work on the inside as well as the outside. The metal rod in the flapper door was bent, I think someone stepped on this thing once upon a time.
I kept all the screws that were holding the airbox to the hood when I dis-assembled years ago. It is a mixed bag for sure but there are about 4 I think might be right, coarse threads with a washer captured, I need about 18 of them and I'm sure the holes aren't made for rivits.
Thanks for any help.

Here's a shot of the slot and hole the screw goes thru, today I slipped all the clips into the hood. Getting closer to making progress.

OK I believe I have several of those screws, need a bunch more.
I don't need those rivits for anything as far as I can tell.
The rivits I do need are not pop-rivits, they are the tiny ones around the outside of the air-box holding the halves together. I am doubtful those are available, might have to find hardware store similars.
Thanks!
Jeff

it appears it took one model year for the factory to figure the STUPIDITY of riveting the air boxes to the hood . i didn't know they changed it in 70 , sorry for the misinforamtion .

jeff , is there someone repopping the air boxes ? if so contact them and ask about the rivets you need ? they are out there but a resto supplier is not goingto be your source , maybe contact resto rick , he might be able to help you out .

also maybe if you change the title and add HOOD after ramcharger , when i first saw the thread i thought it was about 80's ramcharger trucks

Actually there is someone re-popping the air boxes, good idea on a source for the rivits. They are quite soft as a rivit has to be, and the side that 'mushrooms' is split so that when it's squashed the rivit takes on the appearance of flower petals. They are ferrous steel as well, as they are quite rusty.

I'm pretty sure the "RAM MAN" guy sells b]black rivts which he claims are what they originally had. However, I respectfully dissagree with that.
