My manual box does not have a master spline.I thought all steering boxes did.Car is a 73 duster but I am not sure what a body the box came out of.How do I lineup the steering coupler to the box so that my steering wheel is straight.

See how many turns it is lock to lock. The put the pitman arm on in the middle, have your wheels straight, put your idler arm on straight like the pitman arm, install inner n outer tie rods with the sleeves, have your steering wheel centered where you want it and make a way to hold it there beit tied down, a book wedge under it and the seat, snug up the castle nuts to everything and then set the toe with a tape measurer. Seems it should have a spline missing on the box shaft though. Still doesnt sound hard to do. You can get it very close and drive or trailer it to an alignment shop. Did you do the whole front end? If so, you need to get the caster and camber close and snuged down before you do what I have just typed.

You will more than likely have to remove a spline for the coupler to fit.

I used an angle grinder and a steady hand to do mine.

The 20:1 mopar kit I used did not have a master spline.

Try to center everything then choose the closest spline to remove.
