I have a set of the Mopar A-body [002-003] Super Stock leaf springs on my '67 Valiant. When I installed these 5 years ago, I had to drill out the shackle bushings from 7/8" [A body] to 1" [B/E body] due to the fact that the SS leaf springs rear eye is 1". I used the B/E body shackles, which work perfect for the leaf spring end of the shackles, but the larger B/E shackle will not fit into the rear leaf spring hanger on an A body because they have the 7/8" bushing. I had a hard time trying to drill a 1" hole in a A body bushing with a 7/8" hole. It was hard to keep the hole it in the center. It also doesn't leave as much rubber. My question is, does anyone make an A body rear leaf spring hanger that will accept the larger 1" bushing for use with SS springs? Does anyone make an A body shackle with the 1" hole for use with SS springs? What is the best way to drill out the rubber shackle bushings?

I ran into this a few years back on my Duster. As I recall, I bought new MP shackles and Energy Suspension bushings to make it work. I think I used B bushings. It's been quite a while, but I don't recall any drilling or fabrication.

The B/E body shackle bushings have too large of a diameter to fit into an A body rear spring hanger. And you can't use either a B or E body rear hanger, as they are made different than the A body units. ???
