Spend the extra money REMFLEX. If you can reuse a ultra seal you must be able to walk on water.

HAHA this is the unfortunate truth, at least for me.

I'm sure they work second time around with some red RTV high temp, but then, well.... you know....

Probably the best tip I found on moparts is to use remflex gaskets. Seeing that your in Marion The Car Shop in Moline has them. Around 50 bucks shipped to Chicago.

Even the cheapest white paper gasket will seal a good header flange.

Straight and thick 3/8" flanges are the key.

After blowing out far too many Fel-Pros, I switched to Ultra Seal and haven't been disappointed. I haven't replaced a header gasket in years because of gasket failure. Until today, I hadn't heard of Remflex.

I agree with you on the Ultras.Mine were on for 5 year with 12.5 440.Pulled the headers from my kids 318 truck and reused them.I guess I must walk on water. That and Ive been doing it longer than most here have been alive. The ones on my iron heads from the 440 are still on them. The header side looks like new.Almost reused them on the aluminum heads.Might leave them on when we put those heads on the 413.Rocky

I use Remflex. Do a search I dont think there is one bad comment on them. ULTRA SEAL ya get what you pay for. Same people who use cork valve cover gaskets, and swear they are great. But like they say when you have been doing too long you forget more than anyone else knows.

While Ultra Seals have proven to me to be excellent gaskets and far superior to any others I have used, I looked at the Remflex website. Although I have a new set of Ultra Seals waiting to be installed with my new headers, I found the Remflex on Amazon for $28.40 with free shipping and decided to give them a try. If they're as good as they look, coupled with the thick flanges on my Schumacher headers, I shouldn't ever have to replace a header gasket again because it failed.
