I just ordered a new Spectra gas tank through RockAuto. What sending unit do I order? the SPECTRA Fuel Sender with the 3/8" Outlet w/ Fuel Return? or the SPECTRA Fuel Sender with the 5/16" Outlet? this is for a vanilla '69 383 RR.

Thanks

I would upgrade while I Was in there and cap the return, but stock was the 5/16th.

Something wrong with your old fuel pickup/sender? I would upgrade to the 3/8 unit while you're there but it's not a necessity.

Before you install it check the ohms at either end (of the travel) and also mock it up outside the tank, hot wire connected to it, jumper wire to a KNOWN good ground & (key on) see if moving the arm thru it's travel reads accordingly on the gas gauge as a helper checks it for you as there's been major issues w this (do a search). Better to confirm now then when in the tank full of gas.
