This one has me scratching my head....
A few weeks ago, I went out to start up my GTX .. it had been sitting about a month or two. Unfortunately, it's got the same B-Body gas gauge problem I've seen a few others have here -- anything less than a 1/4 tank and the reading goes down to below empty. I was pretty sure I still had around 3 gallons in there.
So, I start cranking. And cranking. Off and on for about 5 minutes. Nothing. I look down the carb - dry as a bone. Nothing's getting up there. So, I check the tank the only way I know how -- I took off the cap and rocked the back of the car and I could hear gas swishing around in there. So, I tried again - still nothing getting to the carb.
I suspected it was the fuel pump by now and should have checked the lines at that point to see if anything was getting that far up, but instead added about 3 gallons of fresh gas to my tank that I had with me.
A few cranks later it fires up and has continued to fire up the dozen or so times since then I've started it....
Any ideas? Could it have been that even with "some" gas in the tank -- not sure how much- it wasn't enough to get picked up? Or am I missing something obvious?
Thanks for any tips.
