What is the easiest way to raise the lockup point in a 79 904?

Also is there a way to just disable it with out disasembleing the trans?

The only way that I know of is to increase the pressure of the lockup valve spring which requires valve body removal.

Thanks John! I was hopeing you would see this.

Removeing the VB is easy, where do I find the spring and do I just shim it or make a blocker rod or what. Is it the valve in the VB where the tube goes in, the extra valve on top of the VB?

Be a heck of alot easier and reliable to install an old none lock up transmission.
You nalso have to mess with the lock up converter.

Clean it, if it's Dirty. Oil it, if it Squeaks. But: Don't fix it, if it Works!

Here's the location of the lockup valve/spring. There is an aftermarket source for springs, can't remember who; the valve can be blocked to eliminate the lockup function.
