can someone help with the following fender tag decode? how would i determine how many were made? Thanks!!! also, where do i find the serial number on the engine to see if it is numbers matching?

"WP27 61 3 43"

The 5th digit should be a letter. If it is a "G", I'm not 100% sure about this but I think it might be a 340. I am certain that "F" was 318 in 1969.

27= Convertable

Also:
WP = Coronet 440 (the model not the engine) WS would be R/T, WH would be plain Coronet and WM would be Super Bee.

That's all I can remember off the top of my head.

per GG's "white book"

The block will be stamped near the oil sending unit w/the last 8 digits of the VIN# (8Gxxxxxx)
The trans will be stamped on a raised pad on passenger side (8Gxxxxxx)

X1 - (u1?) - "SOLD" car

R1 - AM radio
X1 - tinted glass - ALL
Y0 - "green" convertible top

19 - rocker mouldings
30 - belt line mouldings
78 - wheel lip mouldings

AX4 - 3.23:1 rear axle ratio
TRMPAF - (NOT) - premium bucket seat interior "green" (P4F) - premium bench seat interior "green"
PNTFF1 - monotone paint style - "medium green metallic"
UG - Upper Door Frame paint - "racing green metallic"

WP27 - Coronet 500 convertible
61 - 383 2bbl engine

I thought that in 68 not all the engines were vin stamped?
