In my 70 Road Runner 383 four speed, the clutch has become anything but smooth upon engagement in first gear. Really have to finese it to keep it from vibrating the car like crazy. Is it going bad and can I nurse it for a couple of thousand miles before replacing it and doing other things under the car while I'm at it this winter.

Any thoughts?

wwhats is going on? it vibrates? could be anythimng drivetrain related?

do you just bang the gears , or be the stall ?

were there any high spots on the flywheel when you rotated it ?

did you recheck the bolts tightness, after a few heat cycles. flywheel, starter, pressure plate?

Clutch chatter usually means replacement time. All that vibrating is coming from hard spots on the flywheel and a bad clutch disk face. You will eat up the flywheel if you keep running it. You should be able to swap the clutch in a day with out working too hard.
