What would you guys (or girls) say a proper roller cam end play should be. If it matters, its a Lunati mechanical solid cam.

I'm going to say no more than .015 and no less than .003 cold. Maybe some of the other builders will chime in. This is one of those numbers I try not to memorized, I call the cam maker and get there spec for the current thinking

0.005 to 0.010 is the usual number.

By the way Andy, Your button and cover will work fine with a Cloyes billet chain set and ARP 244-1001 bolts. The only thing I needed to do was turn the bolt head down .080" to clear the cover and get it below the button head. This still leaves enough meat on the bolt to get a 12 point socket on and torque them to 40lb.ft.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the feedback. On my motors I use the special ARP header bolts. They have a small diamter head and are drilled for safety wire. They fit without any modifications in the hex-a-just timing set.
