Dart 340 OP moparts member D Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 1,195 Snowing in the north!	Whats a good weight lube to run in a tired 833? is 80/90 or 80/140 better? Same for the 8-3/4 rear? Is 80/140 too heavy?

Pacnorthcuda Too Many Posts Joined: Nov 2007 Posts: 21,814 Kirkland, Washington	You want a GL-4 in the tranny (I use a 75-90) and a GL-5 (extreme pressure) in the rear. Redline makes some great products for both.

I'd be willing to bet the Valvoline 80/90 is a GL-5 Hypoid gear lube. Designed for rear-end (ring and pinion) use. Fine for the rear, not so fine for the 833. Find a GL-4 for that.
