when removing cluster and bezels from dash is there a trick when removing and installin the panel switch as to not scratch the cluster bezel (speedo area)seems like the washer switch hits the bezel..... also when removing the cluster bezel i pulled the edge of dash a little on the right side(clock area) @#$%&

Whenever I take out the switch panel or put it in, I get some large post-it notes (or tape w/a low adhesive backing) and run it along where the facings meet. Make sure you use a few layers to ensure protection.

The switch panel can go in or out without hitting anything, but you have to rotate it a little one way, then another as you go. Unfortunately, I forgot exactly which way to rotate it and when. I don't get to do it that often (thankfully), and it seems I have to relearn it each time. The main thing to remember is patience and do it slowly!

Maybe a little blue masking tape over the area to protect. That's what I do.

I just did this on my project. This sequence worked for me.

1. Fit the switch panel bezel into the dash on the left and attach the wiring connectors. Leave it loose.
2. Blue tape the right edge.
3. Attach gauge cluster wiring and install cluster to dash frame.
4. Blue tape the gauge bezel left edge.
5. Gently fit gauge bezel into the right side. Then, the gently work it into postion behind the switch bezel and install.
6. Install the switch bezel.

See the results here.

Good luck with yours.

Thanks, but no, it's just my amateur attempt. Just a gentle cleaning and touch up. I polished out the clear gauge cover.
