Oh
O/T Does anyone have a part number for the .25 or .75 ohm resistor? Summit has two different two prong resistors, but they dont tell you the difference between the two.

I have been running a chrome box with the 1.00 ohms ballast resistor for over 10 years on the street. What difference would I notice if I changed the 1.00 ohms ballast resistor to the the 0.25 ohms ballast resistor?

Many people confuse the issue..
A lower resistance ballast resistor, will run the coil @ a higher voltage.. We have been running the Mopar Blaster coil along with the 0.25 Ohms resistor for quite a while. And often someone will say that the 0.25 Ohms ballast is the wrong one as it should be of higher resistance. We keep a copy of the tech sheet suppled with the blaster coil in the glove box and in these instances people just shake their head and move on.

Just my $0.02..

The Mopar part # for the 0.25 Ohm version is
2444 641...

The chrome box in my car is about 25 years old.
Just bought an orange box to keep in the trunk,
Mancini is selling knockoffs for 10 bucks. Mike

This has gotten a little confusing-Which resistor should be run with the chrome box and production coil ??

For a chrome box+stock coil, or even a performance coil that you want to run for a LONG time), a 1 ohm resistor works very well. Spark quality won't be quite as nice as with a 1/4 ohm resistor, but the parts should live a very long life.
