I am so giddy seeing the bumpers back from the plater back on my car The vinyl top is just about done, too, with the hold up being the replacement of the windshield.

The booster situation is also holding things up, since I did have to retrench to ordering a disc dual diaphragm booster (ordered from Rock Auto, 'natch!)

The interior floor has been coated with that spray-on bed liner stuff, and the new carpet is being installed while the seats are out for re-freshening. I hope the seats come out like I'm imagining them.

This is what the SRT8 has for seats:

I asked the upholsterer to do something similar in terms of having seat panels with perforated material and smooth vinyl bordering based on the original seat patterns, but to use the European perforation pattern, which has a larger diamond pattern.

Kinda like this

They were originally sent out to Clovis Specialty Plating, however, the bumpers are MUCH larger than what he's used to working with, and they would get scratched when getting pulled out.

He had to sub-let them to another company to get it done, and it took 3 tries. I forget what the cost is, but I'm pretty sure it's more than $1900.00

Yeah, pretty But think about this; my bumpers have about 3 times as much material as a B or E-body !

But they are DONE!! And on the car...soon I'll be able to take a trip or two in it, and then I have to plan for next year to have the machining/trans/diff gone through/upgraded, I think.

This refurbishing of a 41 year old car ain't cheap!

Any sentimental value to this car? It's coming along nicely.

Here's the only sentimental things about this car, for me;
When I was driving back and forth between Modesto and Fresno, while my mom was dying, I saw this car. I just so happens to have been sold new in Fresno, and that's also where my mom passed away at a house my brother and sis-in-law were renting.

Also, based on a somewhat recent parking pass on the windshield, the previous owner worked at the hospital in Turlock where my step-dad eventually passed away when he was getting prepped for amputation surgery.

Finally, I've spent my last bit of inheritance $$ on the work you see.

So there's 3 things about this car that is significant to me, with some interesting coincidences, I think.

And besides it looking neat to me, it's loaded with a lot of nice stuff like a 440 with power steering, brakes, A/C and cruise control.

I will probably put off the engine, transmission and differential upgrades until next year, just to work out of some debt I've gone into for this thing.

Still, I hope to do a little this year with it

What's a Mustang or a Camaro

I got lucky in that there wasn't a whole lot I needed to get replaced, but you're right, it's not the easiest thing to get parts for. All part of the fun, though.

Reading your threads I too was wondering what the attachment was. If you're happy, I'm happy for you. And the bumpers do look nice.

I can't afford this. mark

That is one nice "sea" body! I drove a 68 Polara for 9 years. Nice bumpers! Are you going to the Madera show with it this summer?
