Before this thread gets locked for something of illegal usage, its my personal vehicle and its not for sale...EVER!!...(Yes EVER!)
In my quest to add parts to my car I had sent out an old cluster I had to AutoInstruments to restore for my 69 Charger. I forgot to tell them to zero out the odometer and they restored my cluster beautifully but the ODO shows 66000 miles. My existing cluster shows 8430 which is a true number since thats the miles she has gone since her full restoration.
How do I get the 66000....to read 08430? I know I can put it on a drill press with a rubber hose and sit there for hours on end til it reaches 08430 but I do not want to wear out the bearings on a fresh Speedo. I know I can open the speedo but there is a mess of little gears and it looks a bit confusing.
What do you suggest?

I had my Cuda's rebuilt and got it back screwed up. I bought a working one off of Ebay. I took the odometer out of my now worthless spedometer and put it in the working one. When I had it out, I could adjust the numbers on the odometer to whatever I wanted, no drill needed. The state of Colorado keeps track of my odometer at emission check time and it will be where it should be when it gets checked. I beleive the vehicle history report people purchase this information. All the spedometers that have gone around through 100,000 miles around here get flagged as discrepancies anyway since they were only six digits. Craig

when I put the cop speedo in my M body, I took it apart and reset the mileage to match my existing odo...got it close that way, and then used a drill on the cable to fine tune it exact. wasn't tough to do. going backwards isn't possible, if you were using a drill you'd have to go forward and turn it over.
