I am looking to swap to 3.55 gears in my 8 1/4. I was wondering if anyone has experience with USA standard Gears. They are 100 doll-hairs cheaper than Richmonds.

This car is being built on a budget, but I also know there are somethings not worth skimping on. I've heard they're very noisy, but then again so are richmonds.

Has anyone had experience with these? any complaints? or were you satisfied with them.

Thanks in advance.

USA Standard gears are typically rough and noisy.

Blue box Motive gears are usually better quality for that price range.

Well, would you say that this is an area not worth skimping on and should I just buck up for the more expensive gears?

If the gears are for a truck, it doesn't matter. If the gears are for a car, get the good stuff.

Price doesn't necessarily mean quality, however. There are only a few manufacturers of gears, regardless of the name on the box.

It's for a 73 dart. I just bought an 8.25 diff. What gears would you recommend for a decent price?
