I have a '64 belvedere and I bought the Scarebird conversion plates to replace the drum brakes. I still have a question about upgrading the m.c. I thought I read a post about using a d100 m.c. but I don't remember what year. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

Some of the early B body cars had a different bolt pattern on the master cylinder. Not sure if that ended by '64 or not. You'll just have to check the bolt pattern and see if you can come up with anything that will fit. My guess is you'll need to make an adapter plate or else drill the firewall for new holes. If it was me I'd run a late model aluminum MC with the plastic reservior.

I also have heard that you want to try and keep the piston sizes close to the same size.

I used the 5th Ave spindles and I believe the '76 Volare disc/drum master cylinder. I also cut in a prop valve. I used the stock distribution block and plugged the outlet going to the rear brakes. Even with manual brakes the car stops pretty good for its size.

iirc the 2 bolt alum M/C started in 79. I used a 79 truck one & I'm thinking the bore was way too big (on my 65 A body, might be OK on yours). 1st I'd find the recommended M/C bore for your app

If it was a power brake car you will need a new pedal if converting to manual brakes (ask me how I know). The ratio is only about 3-1 for a power brake car and nearly impossible to stop with even a small bore master cylinder.

The car didn't have power brakes to begin with. What did you get the donor calipers from and what size were the pistons in them? I am still trying to track down the pistons sizes but the scarbird conversion uses calipers out of a 79-85 Cadillac Eldorado for the rear and 94-99 Dodge Ram 1500 caliper for the front.

The kit we used on our 64 Plymouth was from an aftermarket company (on ebag) that just repackaged stock components. I believe they were from a 74 Dart; single piston calipers, stock rotors, etc. The 64 Dodge (in sig picture) has 4-piston Aerospace brakes. On the Plymouth the late model aluminum/plastic master cylinder from Ehrenberg(sp?) worked great; just redrilled the firewall and metal plate (different master cylinder shown in pic).
