I have a 73 340 motor that has what I believe to be the 8.5 compression pistons. I'm not sure as they are old and I have been unable to find any info on them. The #'s on the top were L3061F. They have 2 sets of notches for the valves which leads me to believe they are the low compression ones. How much of an increase in compression will I get if I go from the current stock 73 open chamber heads to say the closed chamber Edelbrocks or magnums?? Thanks in advance

Too many unknown variables to give you a solid answer to that. You need to know the bore diameter, how far down or how far up the pistons are in the hole, what the CC's of the chambers are of the different heads, gasket thickness, gasket bore diameter, and CC volume of valve reliefs are. You know all that then you can plug those numbers into a comp ratio caluculator which you can find a Keith Black's website and find out for sure.
