I probably have a dumb question, but here it goes. I have a 73 Dart with a 440/727. The engine is built as follows, 30 over, balanced, a true 10.1 c/r, Eddy heads, Eddy torker II intake, Holley 770, and a Comp 275 Dual energy cam. So the question is, are a set of 3.23's in in a 742 case strong enough to last with this combination? By the way the car is 100% street driven and I live in North Dakota. It's 50 miles to get any where around here so, the 3.23's are the gear of choice/neccesity.

Especially with street tires.

We have well over 30,000 miles on a mild 440/4sp/3.23 8-3/4 setup that's in my son's Dart convertible. It may even be a 741 case and it DOES have the small u-joint. Never have had a driveshaft or rear end related issue with the car. Purely street driven with no traction aids (except the Sure Grip).

In that little car with the big TQ. you have,
it would roast the tires with any gear you have.
The 3.23s will last a long time on the street.
For better hyway driving I would go with a
3.08 and it would still be an animal!!!!

Snap your neck, mega G-force launch, is all I want!
