hey guys I need a new exhaust system for my super bee.

It's currently has headers with 3" duals with huge glasspacks that dump right before the rear axle

as you guessed it, its loud as sin. I can't even drive the car let alone start it in my garage or the nieghbors will call the cops haha.

Can anybody reccommend som mufflers that still sound good, but not wake the dead loud??

Any good 3" Dual catback commendations for a B-body?

Any info on the catback kits or just specific type of muffler on the 440 would be apreciated.

thanks guys.

I just got Summit 3" kit. I eyeballed it and it looks like a good fit. You only need mufflers and tail pipes. or just tail pipes. You'd be shocked how much they quit a car down. Summit's kit complete w/ mufflers is only $249.

I have a 2.5 in Jegs dual exhaust on my roadrunner w/ tubo mufflers and its way too quiet.

I might go with that Summit 3" pipe kit, has anybody used it?

as for mufflers, I was looking into those Flowtech Warlock's, but they dont make a Offset Inlet - Center outlet.

What other mufflers sound good on a 440? that won't get me shot by my neighbors haha.

Jrgs/Summit exhaust is pretty much the same. I got under the car w/ the 3" and it looks like it should go in pretty easy. I used Summit el-cheapo mufflers on a stock 383 and I liked the sound, kinda old school. I had a warlock on my dakota and it wasn't much louder than stock. I have a flowmaster knock off on there now and it sounds good. Summit and Jegs now have knock off flows. Best thing to do is try and get some sound clips and decide. People have different ideas on what sounds good. FWIW my buddy had a 70 Charger w/ a strong 383 back in the day, he had cherry bombs and tail pipes, that car sounded awsome, to me anyway.

yes, thats what the car has now is cherry bombs and dumps, even if I got it extended over the axle it would still be ridiculously loud.

which are the summit flowmaster knockoffs? the welded mufflers?

Isn't it pretty expensive?

Yea, I would love to drive the car like this believe me. But my neighbor's aren't are nice as yours haha.

There are about 20 houses on our street, and I wouldn't want to be "that guy". I had a 67' camaro with a built 355 headers and flowmasters which I'm sure pissed them off, but this 440 is 3x as loud.

I might look into that summit pipes kit w/ mufflers of my choice. That seems like a decent deal.

I also will stop by some exhaust shops and get some estimates of a 3" custom system. Has anybody got a shop to fab up a system? Do you think it would be better than a pre-bent system from summit/jegs?

I think so. just ask. TTI is VERY VERY VERY expensive. waste of money IMHO. Dynomax's do sound good though.

I think you'd be surprised how much tails take the sound down. It will still have a nasty note but the tails take that booming bass sound away.
